Our non-profit adoption agency, Hope For Families: Adoption and Counseling Services, Inc., specializes in home study preparation and is one of the largest home study providers for Florida families.  We have successfully assisted over 1,500 families adopt children having worked in 42 countries for over 50 different agencies. We are listed as adoption professionals in Florida on adoption.com, Daniel’s Group, Adoption Exchange Association and the Florida adoption register. Hope for Families has a great deal of experience in both domestic and international adoptions. The first step is to complete a home study for you, which is the State mandated part of any adoption process. The home study is a 8-10 page clinical report on you and your home that provides a license for you to adopt.   We have a double license as an adoption agency and as a clinical Marriage and Family Therapist state credentialed for home studies so you can use our home study for any agency, country or state.  Many States through the interstate compact and countries including Russia, China, Colombia, Kazakhstan, etc. require the home study provider to also be an agency, not just a social worker and we have this valuable double licensure.  Every one of our home studies has been accepted by the court, INS, all agencies and countries facilitating the adoption for every person that has asked us to help them.  We also are a Hague exempt provider and work with several large Hague accredited adoption agencies. We would be glad to help you with this clinical adoption home study report so that you can start an adoption either in the US or in another part of the world.
As listed on this site and on www.hopeforfamilies.org our price for a home study is only $1,300 for domestic and $1,400 for international, which is far below most agencies' price of $1800 or more.   Although we previously charged mileage (other agencies charge both mileage and transport time), we are not requiring parents to pay this fee for the first 200 miles from our office in order to help reduce the cost of adoptions and then it is $1.00 per mile .  Please consider us your local agency as we have the lowest flat fee with generally no additional travel expenses and we offer the quickest service.   (We are sorry but if you live in the Keys or in the Panhandle there will be an extra charge for travel and hotel expense.)
 
The Interstate Adoption Program is a netfree* adoption as the total cost counting the home study is only $8,500. All other fees are usually paid by the ascending state, including medical, legal, matching services, post-placement, and all social work. The 2012 tax credit is up to $12,600, which entirely reimburses the $8,500 in most cases, making it a netfree adoption.
Our turnaround time for the home study is three weeks, assuming that the background checks are in, which is much better than the average 3 month response time for other agencies.  We generally can make an appointment within 7 days at your convenience and our agency is known for offering the quickest service available.  We travel throughout Florida and our service is professional, compassionate, affordable, and FAST!  We make every effort to try to make the home study process an enjoyable experience rather than a stressful ordeal so that you can focus on the joy of adopting your child.  We do not send you many hours of stressful paperwork and questionnaires to complete.  Instead, we do everything with you at our interview verbally in the process of getting to know you and write the report on my laptop in your home.  Hope for Families is the only adoption agency that, before we leave your home, gives you a copy of the rough draft of your home study that was written right in front of you on our computer.  This draft will be noted that it is pending the background clearance, or other data, such as letters of referral.  We invite you to carefully review this draft for accuracy and email it to your agency for their input and comment, so that the home study is perfect before it is printed.  People are thrilled with this service as they have something to read immediately after the home interview.
